October 27, 2010 - 04:59 Dear Kitty, Im up late right now like you were many nights. (2:55 am in NYC) I miss our late night conversations. I knew If I ever needed someone to talk to late at night, you would be there for me to lend an ear and give me unconditional love and advice. I just listened to your speech at the 2003 KPI Symposium. It did two things to me, Put a smile on my face and made me cry. It was so nice to hear your voice again! Kitty your are one of the most amazing women I've ever known. You have touched and helped so many people in life including myself. I love you and Miss you dearly! Your Granddaughter, Yasmine Nasim Petty October 06, 2010 - 16:38 Hi, my name is Chelsea Jean Lord. I am going through a tough time emotionally and would like to talk to someone in similar situations or circumstances. Chelsea Lord Hi Clint, Is KPI still going . . . oh, I would love to hear that. I've been without information or contact with folks for a long time and have missed you all ajd the work so very much. I would love to hear from you and what has been happening since we lost your Mom. I found the KPI listing in the "Community Information Handbook 2009". I hope you are well and thriving. HE IS IN THE 6 GRADE AND HAS NOT PASSED 1ST GRADE READING LEVEL. I HAVE TRIED TURTORING AND STILL THE SAME. HE GETS SO FUSTRATED WITH TRYING TO LEARN AND THAT EFFECTS IS BEHAIVOR IN SCHOOL. HE ACTS OUT IN CLASS. TALKS BACK TO THE TEACHER AND AID AND IS ALWAYS GETTING SENT TO DETENTION. I FEEL THIS IS BECAUSE HE FEELS HE CANT DO THE WORK. SO INSTEAD OF TRYING HE WILL DO SOMETHING BAD TO GET KICKED OUT OF CLASS SO HE WONT HAVE TO DO HIS WORK... PLEASE DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR ME? WE LIVE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA IN THE SOUTH BAY AREA, LONG BEACH. IF YOU KNOW OF ANYONE THAT CAN HELP ME PLEASE FORWARD THE INFO TO MY EMAIL ADDRESS. ALSO SOMETHING THAT IS LOW COST. I GOT LAID OFF MY JOB IN FEB OF THIS YEAR. IT IS HARD ENOUGH TRYING TO PAY MY BILLS. I NEED HELP FOR MY SON SO I HAVE TO DO WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO HELP HIM BEFORE ITS TO LATE. THANK YOU, ANGELA JONES Reply to ANGELA JONES Reply to ANGELA JONES The kitty petty institute was the primary source for positive self image information when I was first diagnosed with adhd & dyslexia. It spurred me on to think about ways to create learning processes that will inhance the "abilities" inherent to add/adhd/ld rather than attempting to mainstream and reorganize the add mind to operate as though there is something wrong with it.I hope to go to school to attain credentials which will allow me to do just this. Reply to cb I would like information on resources in or near Marin County for young women with ADD and/or dyslexia. Can you direct me to such resources?
